The news that the PlayStation 4 won’t be supporting any of the retail or PlayStation Network purchases you make is definitely a blow, but it’s also a reason to keep hold of your trusty console that has seen you through the years with spectacular battles in God of War to wonderous adventures with Nathan Drake in the Uncharted series. The fact is, there’s still a lot of life left in the old dog yet and we’d all do well to remember that it’s still got a stellar year ahead of it with some great new games being released, ranging from new intellectual properties ( The Last of Us) and well-known franchises ( Grand Theft Auto V,) as well as the plethora of indie games and downloadable titles. The PlayStation 3 has been sitting under TV’s for the last 6 years now, and it looks set to remain there for a long time after the PlayStation 4 swoops in and wows us with dazzling visuals and new ways to play and share our gaming experiences. While the future definitely looks bright, lets not forget about the present and what’s still on offer with the PlayStation 3. Many of us threw our arms in the air (and whatever we were holding) and did a dance and a jig at the prospect of playing on some new hardware this Christmas. A couple of days ago Sony announced to the world that their next home console, the PlayStation 4 would be arriving this holiday season.
